The operation is usually performed under a general anaesthetic. It is usually done as a day-case procedure, which means that you will be allowed home 3-4 hours after you have recovered from your general anaesthetic.
Your penis may swell and bruise for the first 2 days. It is generally not very painful, and over-the-counter pain relief is generally all you need.
After surgery you have a dressing over the area or over your entire penis. Follow Dr Malouf’s directions about when to remove it. Wear underwear that is comfortable for you. Some men prefer a snug fit for support, while others prefer loose-fitting briefs. The underwear should hold the penis upright. This will help the swelling go down. The swelling usually goes down within 2 to 3 weeks after surgery.
You can return to work and your normal routine when you feel ready to.
Please contact us and give us as much information on your situation as possible so that we can provide a detailed quote.
Quotes vary depending on whether you have private health insurance or not, due to the costs charged by private hospitals for those without insurance. Quotes also vary depending on whether your policy covers you for your specific operation you require, as well as the excess associated with using your policy, and your desired location (hospital of choice) for the operation as some hospitals charge more than others for those without insurance.
Once we know a little bit about your situation, we will happily give you a quote and choice of hospitals so you can decide.
